The members of the Collegiate 100 at Prairie View A&M University is set to host its Career Expo II on September 13, 2012 in the Willie A. Tempton Memorial Student Center at the university. The event is being co-sponsored with the Career Services as part of its Pre-Career Fair activities, set for September 17-21.
The purpose of the Expo is to provide students with information on career choices, preparing for the job market, social media, resume preparation and interviewing skills. The panelist will also share their experiences as first time employees, challenges and successes in their careers and how they started and ran their own companies.
The event is open to all majors and will include a panel of industry leaders and professionals, with more than 70 year of experiences in business, government, public and private corporations and entrepreneurship. Persons slated for the panel include Ms. Bonitta Saulsberry, a Geoscience Administrator for ExxonMobil Development Company in Houston, Mr. Malcolm Sykes, Vice President of Business Development at Well Fargo Commercial Bank, Mr. Rodney A. Brown, owner of The Law Office of Rodney A. Brown, Dr. Demetris Allen Green, M.D., owner of Southwest Medical Clinic of Houston, Mr. Edward Eusurey, the General Manager at the Valmont Industries in Brenham, and Mr. David W. Townsend, Vice President of Consulting for Quorum Business Solutions in Houston.
Expo II is a continuation on the success the organization had with Career Expo I held in March 2012. The organization received rave reviews and decided to expand on this year's event.
The Collegiate 100 will also play an integral part in the Career Fair activities as it plays host to Mr. George Olunkin, Mr. Opportunity, who is the speaker for the Career Services Internship and Research Assistantship's Banquet set for September 17, 2012.
The event is being coordinated by Vincent Ellis, a junior Mechanical Engineering student from Austin, Texas. L. Patrick Gray, a junior electrical engineering student from Sugarland, Texas is the president.
